ABOUT US

MISSION

Heartland Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a membership association that exists to assist children, and the adults who accompany them, in a common religious experience in which the religious values  of childhood, primarily those values of contemplation and enjoyment of God, are predominant.

VISION

  • Recognizing the need for clear and consistent communication among our community.

  • Promoting formation and enrichment opportunities.

  • Hosting CGSUSA approved formation courses.

  • Gathering at an annual membership meeting.

  • Serving as an extension of our chief catechist and shepherd.

  • Offering ourselves as a resource to parishes, priests, and parents.

  • Promoting membership in CGSUSA and supporting its mission.

PURPOSE

Heartland CGS lifts up the 32 Points of Reflection of the Catechesis of the  Good Shepherd  by:

  • Sustaining and advancing the work of CGS by forming adults in this method and serving as a resource to  the CGS community so that a prepared environment can be created that nurtures the religious life of the child

  • Collaborating with those in the Church as a respected voice on the child's spiritual development 

  • Partnering with CGSUSA
